Make the smart decision; choose portable storage

Posted on January 30th, 2010 by admin in Portable storage

Are you looking for a place in which you can store the clutter overwhelming your house? Are you dreading the thought of traditional storage facilities and have been searching for other options? If you answered yes to either of these questions, portable storage will be the perfect solution for you and your storage needs.

There is nothing worse in a home than clutter. Although your home was once a relaxing haven, clutter will immediately turn it into a junk filled nightmare. Thankfully for you, portable storage will provide you with the opportunity to rid your house of its clutter, reclaiming your relaxing haven.

When you choose traditional storage, you will also be choosing many cumbersome responsibilities. The process of moving your possessions into a traditional storage facility is a long and arduous journey; renting a moving truck, loading the truck, driving the huge moving truck to the storage facility, unloading the truck, and returning the truck at a specific time are just some of the frustrations you will be forced to endure. The process of moving your possessions into a storage facility is already demanding enough; don’t make the process that much more stressful by choosing traditional storage.

Thankfully for you, portable storage is a convenient alternative to traditional storage methods. Portable storage will provide you with the ease and convenience you are craving. Driving a cumbersome moving truck will never be a concern of yours when you choose portable storage. Instead, your storage provider will do the hard work for you. Your portable storage unit will be personally delivered right to your home by your storage provider. Once your storage unit is delivered, you can take your time loading it with your possessions. Believe it or not, your work is done after you load your storage unit.

Is it hard to believe that your work is done at this point? Who will take care of the storage unit? Simply give your portable storage provider a call once you have completely loaded your unit. You can sit back and relax while your storage unit provider personally picks up the storage unit from your home. Your portable storage unit will be taken to your provider’s facility where it will be securely stored until you are ready for its delivery.

Typically, unloading your storage unit is filled with long hours of stress and hard work. Thankfully for you, unloading your portable storage unit will be almost effortless. When you pick up the telephone and let us know you are ready for your portable storage unit to be delivered, your portable storage provider will do the hard work for you; while you are relaxing, your unit will arrive at your home.

Another reason to choose portable storage is the monetary savings you will reap. When you choose conventional storage facilities, you will most likely have to rent a moving truck. The hidden fees associated with moving trucks can pile up, multiplying the costs of the initially inexpensive truck rental fee. When you rent a moving truck, you will be required to return your truck at a specific time. However, if an unexpected emergency interferes with the loading process, you will be forced to pay high penalties. Unlike moving trucks, you will not be penalized for keeping your portable storage unit if the unloading process takes longer than originally expected. Save yourself stress and costly penalties by choosing portable storage.

You will not regret choosing portable storage.

Pods storage also known as Portable on demand storage is a revolutionary moving and storage system that gives you the ability to move almost anything you want to practically any location in the country. In a sense, pods storage can be seen as a combination moving truck and storage unit. These moving solutions are the ideal alternative to moving vans and other forms of transport for several reasons. For one thing, they make it much easier for you to move your things from one place to another. With the use of pods storage, you do not have to deal with having to drive an unwieldy truck, navigate it into tight spots, and maneuver it through confined spaces.

Pods storage containers also have the benefit of staying at ground level all the time. Of course, this makes it far easier to load and unload them when you have to. And while other moving and storage solutions require you to conform to a rigid schedule, pods storage containers are generally free from time constraints, which means that there are no bothersome “late charges” or “overage fees” if your move takes you longer than you anticipated.

If you are worried about security, the fact that only you will be in possession of the key to your pods storage container should put your fears to rest. This will give you a measure of confidence that other moving and storage solutions simply cannot provide. Simply put, you will not have to fear that anyone can get into your container without your permission. Pods storage solutions ensure utmost safety and security, and in addition, you will pay a lot less for pods storage solutions than with other moving services.

It is also remarkably easy to order your own pods storage container. All you have to do is enter you details on the web site, and in a surprisingly short amount of time, you will have your pods storage with you. At this point, you can simply fill up your pods storage with whatever you wish, taking as long as you want, without having to worry about fitting into any time constraints or beating a deadline. You can even pack up the pods storage container for as long as one month without having to pay any other additional fees. When you have done packing, you can then call the service and arrange to have them pick up your pods storage container by the next day, when they will deliver it to almost anywhere in the United States that you specify.

Portable Storage Gives Great Benefits to Arlington VA Homeowners

Posted on January 1st, 2010 by admin in Moving containers

Portable storage has revolutionized the Arlington VA moving and storage industry. Whether you are moving to another Arlington VA neighborhood or across the country, portable storage can get the job done better than the traditional rent a van for a day method. Your back will be most grateful, too.

Whether moving your entire Arlington VA home or simply remodeling a room, portable storage will keep your possessions safe and secure until you need them. Your portable storage company will deliver the storage unit right to your driveway, where it sits level with the ground while you pack and load your possessions, at your own pace.

So, your portable storage unit has been delivered to your Arlington VA driveway and you are ready to begin loading. Imagine how much easier (and safer) it is to transfer furniture and boxes into a ground level structure than it is to transport them over a wobbly metal ramp into the back of a moving van. One of the better points of the portable storage system is that you can rent a unit for as long as a month, if necessary. A longer lease period gives your more time to load and unload when moving house and provides enough time to store your things out of the way when remodeling your Arlington VA home.

Let us also consider the security angle. Your portable storage unit is constructed from metal coated plywood strong enough to withstand the worst that Arlington VA weather can throw at it or the most determined of thieves. And no need to worry about security, as you will have the only key to your storage unit in your possession. Security is assured whether the portable storage unit sits in your driveway or in the storage companys Arlington VA facility; storage facilities are monitored by the latest and greatest in security technology. The facilities are also weather proof and climate controlled.

It is not hard to see how much easier an Arlington VA move or remodeling project will be if you rent a portable storage unit. Portable storage units provide safe, secure and weather proof housing, and their ground level location makes transfer of boxes and furniture from home to unit and back again so much easier on your back, legs and arms. You should seriously consider leasing a Arlington VA portable storage unit for your next household move or major project.

Moving and Relationships

Every year thousands of Americans move from city to city, state to state and in some instances to countries abroad. Chasing the American Dream is forcing people to migrate. Such a movement has its effects, some good and others not so good. On the downside, moving is at the price of the social well being of the traditional American family.

A conventional American family consists of at least two generations living together, with the elders living in the same house or in the same city. This concept of family is epitomized by rural America, but is fast losing relevance in cities where unitary families are a norm. Better economic prospects in states other than that of original residence are forcing the Americans to take a hard choice. These choices include moving away which has an adverse effect on their families.

More often than not, moving hits the elders of a family the hardest. The choice to move usually involves leaving behind the elders. The elders are thus faced with an ‘empty nest’ which has a direct impact on their emotional health. Moving sometimes involves admitting the elders into old age homes. Such a move is difficult for some elders to cope with and they become depressed.

Along with the elders others are also affected. The absence of the grandfather and/or the grandmother has its effect on the children too. The moral values and lessons of life passed on verbally by the grandparents are lost to them.

Moving to a new place consumes finances. Any relocation is a challenge on your budget management, which would include careful assessment of your immediate liquidity, as well as your various insurance policies. Your interstate moves would of course be less painful than say a move abroad, which requires a longer and more judicious financial plan. The financial health of unitary families is also affected. It may well happen that the children plan to move away requiring the parents to ‘chip in’ thus increasing the financial burden. Despite doing that, the children may not reciprocate on reaching their new place thus straining the family social relations.

Moving also affects the way families relate to each other and the society at large. Relocation involves, in most cases, leaving behind a part of your family, that vacuum requires to be filled up. If this vacuum is not filled by a suitable role model, children may fall into bad company and also may require psychiatric help at a later stage. Why are Americans going in for psychiatric counseling in increasing numbers? The answer possibly lies in migration, which is causing disarray in the American social structure. The issue that needs to be addressed is whether we as Americans must reconsider our choices, or continue our quest for fulfilling the American dream at all cost.

Using Self Storage for a New Office

Posted on December 29th, 2009 by admin in Portable storage

When a company needs to move an office to a new location or, even better, open another office in a new city, it is usually a good sign. Things are going well, and the company is adjusting and expanding. However, even a successful business does not have a lot of extra money lying around to spend on cubicles and furniture for a new office. But cubicles, etc., are expensive, and companies can have a hard time keeping costs down. Unless, of course, your company decides to use self storage, instead.

When not using self storage, the process that most companies use to open a new office or move an existing one can be pretty wasteful. Instead of playing it smart with self storage, companies simply sell off their old office furniture and cubicles, and buy it all again when they get to their new location. And while this may seem simpler than self storage, the truth is that it is not. In actuality, it is generally the more pricey option, not better one.

How, though, does self storage save a company money when they move to a new office? Pretty simply: it helps you avoid losing money when reselling your furniture. No matter who you sell it to, you can only sell your cubicles, etc., for a small amount of the original purchase price. Even if it has not seen much use, and is (for all intents and purposes) new, you will lose a large amount of money when you try to resell it.

This is how self storage can help you. When buying four new cubicles, you can spend anywhere from $2,500 for ultra simple models to $8,000 for fancy Hayworth cubicles. However, if you choose to use self storage for your existing furniture, you will be able to use your existing office furniture. All you need to do is have somebody load your office furniture, etc., into your self storage unit. When your company is ready to move into its new space, the self storage unit will be delivered, allowing you to easily unload and use your old furniture and equipment.

Saving money with self storage also applies when opening up a new branch office. In many offices, up to 30% of the office furniture goes unused. So instead of buying 30% more furniture than you need, you can have your excess pieces placed in self storage for use in the new branch. Then, when the new office is ready, you will have to buy only what you need… and because self storage is so inexpensive, you can save plenty of money on unneeded office furniture.

Thoughts about moving

Posted on November 11th, 2009 by admin in Portable storage

I remember clearly when our friends decided to move from DC not too long ago. They had lived here for a number of years. We had become friends because the lived near us. They actually still owned a house on the West Coast while they lived here. Because they owned several houses far away from each other, they had stuff all over the place in storage units.

After deciding to move back to their first house, they needed to find storage units for all their stuff. They were pretty happy when the storage unit people said they could place the storage unit right on their street. We’re sad that they decided to move away. From time to time they talk about coming back, we hope they do.

Moving Storage is Safer for Your Things

Posted on November 2nd, 2009 by admin in Moving containers

Moving can be quite a hassle. So many things must get taken care of, from switching over utilities to making sure Aunt Thelma gets the new phone number. On top of all that, the most difficult part can be having to move personal belongings. Beds, kitchen table, the couch, and everything else has to all be moved to the new house or apartment. Getting them there usually requires a lot of packing, and then there is the issue of how to actually transport everything. Years ago, moving everything would have required finding a friend with a truck or paying for one of two other moving options. One was to pay a moving company to load everything up and transport stuff, then unload it all in the new home. The problem with going that route is, stuff gets lost, banged around, or ruined. Moving men can be careless! The other option was to rent a truck and do everything yourself.

A third option that has emerged during recent years is renting portable moving storage. The wonderful thing about moving storage is that the companies really provide two services, moving people’s things and storing them as well. For someone moving into a smaller space, or only temporarily, this would be great. Save space and extra steps and use moving storage. All that is involved is renting the containers, loading them, and then unloading them at the new place.

Moving storage differs from traditional storage companies. Remember those old, garage style storage centers? When renting moving storage, a large shipping container gets delivered to your place. If more than one is needed, that can be taken care of, too. Instead of paying for a whole storage room, then, the customer only pays for the container. Why pay for more moving storage than you need, right? Besides that, rest assured that moving storage is a whole lot safer for your things than those traditional storage facilities. Since the containers add an extra step to getting into valuables, thieves are not as likely to bother trying. They would much rather go rob traditional storage facilities, where only a door need be broken open. With that in mind, moving can become just a little less stressful.

The moving storage containers stay at the storage facility until their contents are needed. When that happens, just call and have them delivered. That is how easy it can be. After the moving storage arrives, unpack your belongings, then send it back.
