Stoing boat stuff off season
For many many years we have had a sail boat. Each winter you have to empty out all the stuff from your boat and store it somewhere. The most convenient place to store things for us was our basement. I think many people user their garages, but we didn’t have one in the city. In the city, finding places to store you stuff is difficult. So one year we decided that putting the stuff in our basement just wasn’t going to work. Another similar post.
We started to do research on storage units in the area. We found a storage unit not too far away. Based on what I’ve seen, storage units are really easy to come by now. I think have been building and building them. I guess that the companies in this business have decided that this is a growth market. Regardless, I was talking about my boat stuff.
In the end we decided to rent a storage unit that was not too far from the boat. We moved all the stuff from the boat to the storage unit in the car. This took many many trips. Because we were close, I ended up moving more things into the storage unit that I had previous put in my basement. And actually, that’s very good for the stuff you are storing. See, things near the water or in the boat tend to mold. Inside the storage unit, climate control made sure that there was no moisture.
